Introduction

The French Department of legal studies (DFEJ), in cooperation with the University Jean Moulin Lyon 3, has been established since 2002 at the Faculty of Law of Ain Shams University in the Abbassia neighbourhood in Cairo. The DFEJ department is the result of the privileged link uniting the Egyptian and French cultures in the field of law.

The DFEJ offers unique work opportunities to its students ranging from legal to judicial professions, in the private and public sectors, in business and diplomatic service, as well as research. The students benefit from the quality of studies that allows them to integrate quickly to the job market.

The DFEJ prepares to obtain several Egyptian and French diplomas within the framework of the European LMD system (License / Master / Doctorate): the French License issued by the University Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (Bachelor level 3), the Egyptian diploma of Bachelor of Laws (baccalaureate) issued by the University of Ain Shams (Baccalaureate in the 4th year) and the French Master 1 of the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University (in the 4th year).

The DFEJ also awards a Master 2 in Public Law in Strategic and Business Sectors, which complete the existing study programme offered in Egypt and meets the professional integration needs of Egyptian students. It brings a transversal vision of the public law by confronting it to the business world and the main public and private actors of the field. This Master allows aims at training to the lawyers specializing in public and corporate laws.
